Actual Salary £32,061 – £34,434 (pay award pending)
(Leicester City Council Site Manager / Premises Officer Level 3 equivalent)
37 hours per week, full time, permanent
Working an alternating early/late shift pattern (between 6.30am – 6.00pm)
Holiday allowance to be taken during school holidays
Located at Willow Bank School and Magpie Learning Centre, Eyres Monsell, Leicester.
Overview
We are seeking to appoint a committed, skilled and proactive Operations Manager to join our exceptional team.
This is a key role responsible for the effective operational management of the school estate, ensuring our buildings, grounds and services provide a safe, compliant and inspiring environment for students, staff and visitors.
You will take a strategic lead on health and safety, estates management and site operations, whilst also managing a dedicated premises team and overseeing contractors and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
•Line management of the premises team, including professional growth, training, development and day-to-day supervision
•Full responsibility for health and safety across the school, including compliance, monitoring, training, audits, risk assessments, first aid and COSHH
•Overseeing estates management, ensuring the buildings and grounds are well maintained, safe, secure and fit for purpose
•Supporting capital projects, refurbishment works and planned maintenance programmes
•Liaising with contractors and external providers, managing service delivery, procurement and contract performance
•Managing and developing school lettings
•Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements relating to building safety, security and regulatory standards
•Contributing to and maintaining business continuity and critical incident planning
About You
You will be an organised, resilient and solutions-focused professional with experience in premises, estates or facilities management, strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, experience managing staff and contractors, and the ability to manage multiple priorities including projects, compliance and operational delivery. A relevant health and safety qualification (or willingness to work towards one) would be advantageous.
