A specialist SEMH secondary school in Gateshead is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can support pupils who struggle with behaviour, emotional regulation, and confidence.
What you’ll be doing
This role is all about connection.
Your day could include:
* Supporting students during lessons and practical activities
* Helping pupils manage emotions and challenging behaviour
* Encouraging positive routines and engagement with learning
* Working closely with teachers and behaviour mentors
* Being a consistent, calm presence in the classroom
Students here respond best to adults who show patience, understanding, and a bit of humour when things get tough.
