Information Governance Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for an Information Governance Manager to join us!
This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £55,296 - £60,286 per annum.

The Role
We are looking for an Information Governance Manager to lead and develop the strategic and operational aspects of the Council's Information Governance function, including local land charges and the information access regimes (FOI and EIR). The role reports to the Deputy Director of Law & Governance.
Responsibilities
* Act as the Council's statutory Data Protection Officer, shaping a corporate data protection strategy that effectively monitors and measures the organisation’s compliance with data protection law.
* Maintain a robust information access regime to ensure that relevant legislation is upheld to the highest standards across the organisation.
* Maintain strategic oversight of the organisation’s statutory functions that are delivered by partner organisations and their compliance with data protection law.
* Deliver a high-quality and legally compliant data protection service to the Borough’s schools and academies who opt-in to the service.
What we are looking for
* A qualified data protection practitioner with strong expertise in UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, FOI, and EIR, with significant experience managing compliance, data protection risks, and information rights requests, and IG policies.
* Ability to interpret complex legislation, advise senior leaders, and lead staff.
* Excellent communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
* A proactive, solution-focused approach.
* Confidence in delivering training, supporting cultural change, and maintaining robust governance frameworks across the organisation.
