The Pre‑Registration Pharmacy Technician will learn to perform the duties of a hospital‑based Pharmacy Technician under the support and guidance of Pharmacy Staff.
As a Pre‑Registration Pharmacy Technician you will complete competencies in the workplace and earn the Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice, delivered by the University of East Anglia.
Responsibilities
- Complete workplace competency training.
- Receive prescriptions, label and dispense medication.
- Accuracy‑check medication.
- Counsel patients and provide excellent customer service.
- Attend all study days at the University of East Anglia; you must not take annual leave on designated UEA study days.
- Ensure all evidence requirements are completed and uploaded to your online portfolio before the submission deadline, with comments from your Educational Supervisor.
- Use study time effectively and complete additional study at home as needed.
- Achieve the Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice to qualify for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science at Grade 4/C or above.
- If you hold overseas qualifications, you must apply to UK ENIC to verify equivalence to UK GCSEs.
