For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible Registered Nurses with up to 2 years of RN experience and $20,000 for those with more than 2 years of RN experience!
Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a full- or part-time RN position. Bonus amount is prorated for part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible.
Current MaineHealth employee members are ineligible; former members are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation from employment.
The Palliative Care Registered Nurse is an essential member of the Palliative Care Interdisciplinary Team, providing patient- and family-centered care to individuals with serious illnesses. The goal of palliative care is to maximize quality of life and align medical care with the patient's values and preferences.
Key responsibilities include coordinating care, conducting symptom assessments, explaining disease and treatment options, facilitating referrals and team communication, triaging calls, preparing outpatient charts, medication reconciliation, obtaining authorizations and refills, rooming patients, supervising Medical Assistants, facilitating family meetings, supporting goals of care discussions, and collaborating within the interdisciplinary team.
This position is primarily based at the outpatient/ambulatory Palliative Care clinic in Scarborough, ME, with scheduled support at Maine Medical Center Portland, and occasional outreach at MaineHealth specialty practices.
This full-time position involves 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, with four 10-hour shifts.
Summary:
The RN uses professional nursing processes to assess patient and family needs and performs various patient care services to support physicians and advanced practitioners in delivering excellent care.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
2. Current applicable state license as a Registered Nurse.
3. Current BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of start date.
4. At least one year of RN experience required; two years preferred.
