Overview
Fixed Term Role - 12 months. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, technically skilled and caring Therapeutic Radiographer to join our Radiotherapy team at University Hospital Dorset - Poole Hospital.
Our radiotherapy service has a wide range of modern techniques with a strong commitment to patient care and staff development, including a well-developed competency and preceptorship program to help new staff integrate into the service. The department uses a four-tier structure for radiographers and you would be working alongside radiographers who have developed to band 8b.
We offer regular opportunities for educational funding (such as MSc modules) and paid attendance at conferences (nationally and internationally, e.g., ESTRO). The department operates Linacs (Varian True Beams), two Philips Big Bore CT scanners, Orthovoltage and Brachytherapy services. Surface Guided Radiotherapy (SGRT) and Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SBRT) are implemented. The department is a reference site for three manufacturers and often hosts visits to help other departments develop. Our oncology management system is Mosaiq and our planning system Eclipse. Poole also runs a satellite radiotherapy service in Dorchester where one of our four Linacs is operated.
Interview Date: 18th November 2025. Full-time staff currently work their contracted hours over 4 days and are given a rolling day off each week. The post is based at Poole with a rotation between the main and satellite unit at Dorchester during a typical year.
