As a Support Worker in our service, you will support individuals with learning disabilities to live independently and take part in everyday life. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help people develop skills, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes.

What your day will look like

1. Supporting individuals with daily living tasks and personal routines
2. Encouraging independence and supporting life skills development
3. Supporting individuals with meals, household tasks and personal wellbeing
4. Supporting individuals to access work, education and community activities
5. Acting as a key worker and contributing to support planning
6. Maintaining accurate records and documentation
7. Working alongside families and other professionals
8. Supporting a safe and inclusive environment

About you

You will bring patience, empathy and a genuine commitment to supporting people to live independently. You will understand the importance of person centred support and building positive, respectful relationships.

Experience in the care sector is helpful but not essential, as full training and support will be provided. Basic IT skills are required for completing records and training. You will be willing to work towards an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care if you do not already hold this qualification. You must be a member of the PVG Scheme and registered with the SSSC, or willing to join and register.

As we do our work in Christ’s name the job you have applied for requires you to have a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos. This is an Occupational Requirement under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010. 

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
