Overview
Exploitation and Missing Co‑ordinator – a part‑time (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) hybrid role based in Birmingham. You will develop and implement evidence‑based, intelligence‑led disruption plans to protect vulnerable young people from child exploitation and missing‑children cases. The role requires occasional joint visits but does not involve direct casework with families.
Responsibilities
* Assess harm or risk using a contextual safeguarding approach.
* Analyse intelligence, identify emerging trends and coordinate robust disruption plans that target perpetrators.
* Co‑ordinate multi‑agency efforts, manage information flow and ensure disruption activity is timely, effective and intelligence‑led.
* Raise awareness among social workers, family support workers, youth offending teams and other stakeholders so they can recognise and respond to risks that arise outside the family environment.
* Forge and nurture strong partnerships with the Empower U Hub, community groups and other agencies to strengthen the collective response to child exploitation and serious youth violence.
* Ensure compliance with DBS requirements and any additional safeguarding checks required for the role.
* Maintain accurate records of activities, reports and partnership outputs.
Qualifications
* Relevant degree or equivalent qualifications in safeguarding, social care, policing, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of child exploitation and missing‑children issues, particularly within Birmingham.
* Proven ability to assess vulnerabilities and coordinate safeguarding responses.
* Excellent organisational, communication and coordination skills.
* Demonstrated commitment to strategic thinking and effective multi‑agency collaboration.
* Right‑to‑work in the UK and suitability for a DBS check (Standard, Enhanced or Enhanced‑with‑Barred‑List, as appropriate).
