Overview

The School of Medicine and Population Health’s (SMPH) tariff team is responsible for the effective management of the National Health Service England’s (NHSE) Training Tariff, which supports our Medical Undergraduate placement activity that aims to:


* Ensure that providers are consistently reimbursed for training placements
* Ensure that placements are high quality
* Ensure that learners develop the skills and knowledge they need to meet their professional competencies

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the monitoring and reporting of our Training Clinical Placements. This role involves strong line management, exceptional communication, and collaboration with SMPH colleagues, external Higher Education Institutions, NHS Trusts, and NHSE. You will provide strategic oversight, deliver high-quality service, and coordinate quarterly data submissions to NHSE.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

* Responsible for the overall management and oversight of the Training Tariff, ensuring compliance with NHSE tariff guidance regarding use of the Training Tariff.
* Develop and manage relationships with senior NHS Trust personnel, acting as the central point of contact for training tariff matters.
* Lead strategic planning for training tariff resources, ensuring they directly enhance the quality of student placements, etc.
* Responsible for the creation and maintenance of contracts and agreements linked to education, liaising with the central contracts team.
* Maintain a secure and accurate record of all contracts and agreements, regularly auditing to ensure data integrity, security and contract agreements can be met.
* Provide effective line management of the training tariff team, carrying out their SRDS, monitoring staff annual leave and sickness and dealing with any performance related issues in the first instance, setting targets,identifying training opportunities and regularly appraising performance.
* In collaboration with the Finance Business Partner, completion and submission of quarterly NHSE Data Return, ensuring accuracy of data.
* Accurate recording of student numbers and placement allocations across all Trust, GP and PIVO settings.
* Represent the School at relevant regional and national meetings.
* Provide high quality project management support within the School, as required.
* Support quality assurance monitoring visits with placement NHS trusts.
* Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
