Role
We are seeking to appoint a Librarian to cover the maternity leave of our current Librarian. The Librarian will manage the libraries in our Senior School and Prep School to inspire a love of reading and support independent study and academic research. The core responsibility is to manage library stock to ensure access to a broad and relevant range of reading material, reference resources, research tools and information services. The post-holder will also be responsible for after-school supervised homework sessions in the Senior School library (4-6pm) under the direction of the duty member of the SLT.
Work pattern: Term time only, plus five days in the holidays. We are also open to candidates interested in job-sharing (splitting the day or week).
Responsibilities
* Manage the libraries in the Senior School and Prep School to develop students’ love of reading and understanding of the library as a welcoming space for independent study and research.
* Oversee library stock to ensure access to a broad, relevant range of reading matter, reference materials, research tools and information services.
* Coordinate and run after-school supervised homework sessions (4-6pm) in the Senior School library under SLT direction.
* Promote reading and information literacy and support curriculum needs as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience or clearly demonstrated passion for reading and ability to inspire students.
