SENIOR CATASTROPHE MODELLING ANALYST – P&C – BERMUDA – 10% TAX – HR123
About this opportunity
Our client is currently seeking candidates for their open Senior Catastrophe Modelling Analyst position. This is a Full-Time role within the P&C Modelling team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading renewal, intermittent and RFP modelling on highly complex accounts. The employee shall also undertake such additional or other duties as the company may reasonably require from time to time.
Main responsibilities:
* Lead the modelling and pricing of complex reinsurance programs, including multi-layered and multi-territory structures
* Develop and customize modelling and pricing applications for Nat Cat and other lines of business
* Conduct loss feasibility analysis to validate modelled losses
* Implement modelling assumptions accurately in the modelling process, ensuring correct modelling to quantify the company's catastrophe loss potential
* Identify potential risks and develop assumptions based on comprehensive actuarial principles in accordance with the company’s guidelines
* Drive complex analytical projects by integrating cross-functional input and applying strategic problem-solving to deliver actionable insights
* Assist in developing effective pricing guidelines and controls
* Use technical expertise to resolve catastrophe-modelling issues using vendor- and in-house developed models and quoting tools
* Actively participate in various company projects such as the creation of a quotation platform and provide solutions to assist with meeting the identified targets
* Work collaboratively in a team environment assisting and mentoring junior members of the team
What you’ll need
* Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, natural science, mathematics or economics
* Actuarial certification (or working towards) would be considered an asset
* A minimum of five (5) years hands-on natural catastrophe modelling experience including working with simulation models of Verisk (AIR)
* Experience in validation of third-party Nat Cat models
* Technically proficient in programming language (e.g. VBA, Java, R) would be considered an asset
* Ability to work independently on solutions to complex problems
* Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
* Ability to establish, maintain and expand business relationships at all levels
* Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail
* Willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet business objectives
