Vetro Education is seeking to recruit an experienced and dedicated Male SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a Special School in Aberdare, RCT. The school supports learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder and challenging behaviour and Vetro Education is looking for Male SEN Teaching Assistant in or around the Aberdare area who is experienced in any of these fields.
The role is full time, starting September 2025 and the role is set to run for the entire (Apply online only) academic year.
Due to the nature of this role and the duties involved, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the successful candidate to be male.

The role: What you'll be doing as a SEN Teaching Assistant
*
Supporting and supervising learners with ASD, PDA, Global delay Disorder or Challenging Behaviour
*
Assisting learners at the start of the school day and when leaving at the end of the day
*
Assisting staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson
*
Working with learners in small groups and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
*
Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
*
Assist learners at break time with their lunch
*
Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities
*
Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies
The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a SEN Teaching Assistant
*
At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial
*
Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
*
References covering the last two years (no gaps)
*
Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
