Job Title: Complex Needs Support Specialist – Be the Calm in the Chaos Location: North Tyneside Salary: £89–£108 per day Some pupils need a little extra. You give a lot more. We’re supporting a fantastic specialist setting in North Tyneside that caters to children and young people with complex needs, including autism, ADHD, profound learning difficulties, and associated medical or behavioural conditions. They’re on the lookout for someone calm, resilient, and empathetic—someone who can offer tailored, person-first support and help students feel safe, seen, and understood. What you’ll be doing: Providing 1:1 and small group support that adapts to individual needs Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, and additional needs in class, at break, and throughout the day Assisting in the delivery of personalised learning and therapy programmes Using strategies for de-escalation, sensory regulation, and emotional support (training provided!) Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure joined-up care Who this role suits: You might have a background in care, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, or health and social care—and you’ll definitely have the patience and emotional intelligence this role demands.
