We're looking for a Strategic Planning Specialist to join our Planning, Scheduling & Control team on a 12-month fixed term contract. In this key role, you'll coordinate and deliver high-quality strategic planning, scheduling and street works activity across our water network, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and with minimal impact on customers.
You'll play a vital part in creating and managing operational programmes for work that requires interruptions to the mains water supply, ensuring water quality standards are maintained and customers remain supported throughout the process. Working closely with internal teams, delivery partners and external stakeholders, you'll help deliver an effective, end-to-end access plan within agreed service levels for the duration of the contract.
What you'll be doing
* Creating clear, accurate operational programmes using internal systems and detailed network knowledge
* Coordinating customer water supply (CWS) activities to minimise service impact and customer minutes lost (CML)
* Completing water quality risk assessments
* Planning and scheduling resources, including fleet movements, field teams, absence, training and reservoir maintenance programmes
* Managing and prioritising access and street works requests in line with business needs and regulatory requirements
* Supporting planning meetings and working collaboratively with work requestors and delivery teams
* Building strong working relationships with delivery partners, stakeholders and regulatory authorities
* Ensuring compliance with New Roads and Street Works Act, safety legislation and internal change control processes
* Maintaining accurate planning data and updating corporate systems such as SAP and FFA
What we're looking for:
Essential
* Strong planning and scheduling skills
* Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Knowledge of network geography and operational capability
* Experience using SAP, Street Manager and FFA
* Confident computer user with strong attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
* Methodical problem solver, comfortable working under pressure
Desirable
* Experience in technical planning within water or utility network operations
* Advanced user knowledge of SAP, Street Manager and FFA
