We are currently recruiting three experienced Health & Safety Advisors to support major construction projects across London.
This is an opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering complex schemes where health and safety is embedded into project culture and leadership.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety / Director of HSQE, you will provide competent, proactive health and safety support to site teams and senior management. The role focuses on compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement across live construction environments.
You will support duty holders in line with UK legislation and industry best practice while promoting a strong, positive safety culture on site.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide professional H&S advice in accordance with UK legislation, HSE guidance and CDM 2015
* Support the preparation and ongoing development of Construction Phase Plans.
* Review and monitor RAMS, risk assessments and COSHH documentation
* Undertake regular site inspections and audits, issuing reports and tracking close-out actions
* Monitor subcontractor compliance, inductions and toolbox talks
* Support fire safety planning and emergency procedures
* Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis
* Support identification of training needs and delivery of site briefings
* Liaise with HSE and support during inspections where required
* Promote continuous improvement and challenge unsafe behaviours constructively
* Some roles may involve operating in a resident capacity on a single flagship project, working closely with senior project leadership
Candidate Requirements
Essential
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
* Proven experience in a construction H&S advisory role
* Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 and UK H&S legislation
* Relevant CSCS card
* Full UK driving licence
* Confident communicator with strong report-writing ability
Desirable
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate
* IOSH membership (or working towards)
* Experience across multiple concurrent projects
* Knowledge of ISO 45001 management systems
