The Shift Manager role reports to the Operations Manager and leads all aspects of the daily shift operation in a cost-effective and productive manner. The Shift Manager will ensure service levels meet agreed standards and KPIs, effectively managing colleagues to meet customer expectations.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and manage warehousing operations for the shift, ensuring effective and accurate sortation of goods.
* Ensure all activities comply with company policies in a safe and proactive manner.
* Manage costs and performance of the shift.
* Lead and motivate a team to deliver excellent customer service.
* Manage performance, conduct, absence, engagement, and training, holding team members accountable to standards.
* Monitor KPIs, identify improvement actions, and communicate them effectively.
* Provide shift summaries and handover records, detailing any exceptions and actions taken.
Essential criteria for this role
* Previous experience in logistics or distribution industries.
