Context of the role
Reporting to the SVP of Account Management – Europe, the Account Director focuses on scaling relationships with large clients such as banks, MTOs, PSPs, wallets and fintechs across Europe. You will act as a trusted advisor, delivering a world‑class customer experience, driving revenue growth through cross‑sell and upsell opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Ensure satisfaction of existing accounts to achieve positive account retention and contractual health.
* Develop account plans and strategies and execute them to increase revenue and market share.
* Drive revenue within accounts through cross‑sell and upsell opportunities.
* Advocate for client business, helping the company understand their demands and needs.
* Collaborate with internal functions (product, sales, compliance, solution delivery, operations) to improve product and service.
* Coordinate new service roll‑outs considering market specificity (regulation, competition, etc.).
* Own customer requests and explore new opportunities to add value.
* Maintain strong partner management rooted in KPIs, ensuring account retention and contractual health.
* Maintain accurate reporting, utilizing the CRM tool with precision.
* Provide timely feedback to leadership on performance, sales activity, and account status.
* Foster communication channels and facilitate issue resolution.
Skills / Qualifications

* 8+ years of experience in B2B BD/AM in an enterprise sales environment.
* Hands‑on partnerships and/or account management experience with financial institutions & enterprise clients in the UK & Europe.
* Track record of top commercial performance in a payments business, with proven ability to grow revenue share.
* Operationally focused, able to methodically grow a live account and coordinate internal teams using planning, metrics, and organizational structures.
* Expertise in CSM (customer success management) with a metric‑driven, rigorous programmatic framework.
* Excellent negotiation skills, able to drive commercial value in upsell and cross‑sell scenarios.
* Strong decision maker, able to prioritize through competing demands and complex problems.
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including compliance, legal, solutions delivery, treasury, and finance.
* Self‑motivated, flexible, go‑getter, able to work at pace in a rapidly growing and changing environment.
* Analytical ability to manage complex reporting, pricing, and cost considerations.
* Ideally bilingual – English plus at least one European language, advanced business level in both written and spoken.
