A highly reputable claims and disputes consultancy based in Sheffield, Yorkshire, is looking to hire a Senior Delay Consultant. The successful candidate will likely be an existing Delay Analyst who has worked for a consultancy providing dispute resolution services. Alternatively, this role would also suit a construction professional from a contracting background, who has had some exposure to claims and disputes work within their role and is now interested in joining a specialist claims and disputes consultancy where they can develop their skills and career within the claims and disputes sector. Responsibilities and Duties
As a Senior Delay Consultant, you will report directly to the Managing Director and support senior management on complex disputes, as well as managing your own client assignments related to claims on live projects. You will be expected to: Support Delay Analysts on disputed and time-related issues. Review construction programmes and provide guidance. Help clients avoid conflicts with expert, commercially focused advice. Support clients on delay and loss matters. Collaborate with commercial experts on time-related issues. Provide delay-related coaching and training to clients. Prepare reports and represent clients in tribunals. Work with solicitors in construction disputes. Engage in Business Development activities. Desired Skills and Experience
Approximately 10 years of postgraduate experience in the construction industry. Experience in live planning and programming roles or delay analysis at a disputes consultancy; experience in both is advantageous. Familiarity with programmes and scheduling software. Proficiency in P6, Asta Powerproject, MS Project. Experience in managing or supporting formal disputes (advantageous but not essential). Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience. Knowledge of standard forms of contract such as NEC and JCT. Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages. Qualifications/Educational Requirements
