Established manufacturing organisation seeks highly skilled Toolmakers for immediate start. Reporting directly to Tool Room Manager, the role of Toolmaker requires you to manufacture, maintain and repair tooling and dies to precise engineering drawings within tight tolerances, produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines, maintain quality and safety standards, keep accurate records and be responsible for the maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Toolmaker duties will include:
* Disassembly and reassembly of tools
* Tool splitting and regrinding
* Replacing component parts
* Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces
* Maintain specifications by observing all associated operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools
* Operate manual and CNC machinery
* Manual milling, turning, surface grinding, 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC milling, bench work
* Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
* Ensure maintenance of Quality standards
Skills/Attributes required by Toolmaker:
* Previous experience within a similar role as Toolmaker within a heavy manufacturing environment (essential), preferably automotive or aerospace background
* Toolmaker apprenticeship or minimum 3 years' experience in a toolroom environment
* Experience setting and operating CNC machinery
* Ability to read and interpret engineering technical drawings
* Understanding of Quality Standards and Regulations
* Proven efficiency with working practices
* Problem solving and tool improvement
* Must be able to work on own initiative
* Attention to detail
* Be organised and have the ability to prioritise and multi-task
* Be able to communicate effectively with own team and other departments
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: Varying Shifts Available
Pay Rate: £15 - £18 per hour dependent upon experience
