Kingston College is seeking a Student Community Officer to support Curriculum, Student Services and Security Teams in engaging students, especially those considered ‘at risk’ or ‘hard to reach’.
You’ll play a key role in fostering a positive ethos within the Creative Industries Campus of the College community, including enrichment and holistic Student Services. You’ll provide an engaging, welcoming onsite presence during College hours, signposting enrichment opportunities, promoting positive attitudes, inclusivity, and appropriate behavior, and implementing early intervention strategies for students ‘at risk.’

Experience working with young people in a school or College setting, with an understanding of issues affecting attendance and behavior, is essential.
You should be able to establish positive relationships with young people while maintaining appropriate boundaries, with skills in managing challenging behavior, de-escalation, negotiation, and restorative approaches. Organizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and experience with IT and data systems for student records are also required.
