Role / Job Title: AWS Solution Architect Work Location: London 250 Bishopsgate (Onsite) The Role As an AWS Solution Architect, you will be working closely with the technical team on development and implementation journeys that transform traditional banking infrastructure and services by leveraging the power, scalability, and security of the AWS cloud. The role demands a strong understanding of AWS services, cloud architecture principles, security best practices, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes. Your Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance AWS cloud infrastructure complying with bank standards. Familiarity with private banking preferred; Avaloq experience will be an added advantage. Ability to re-envision the target state from current DWH estate towards data products/marketplace model on AWS/Snowflake. Review AWS Infrastructure components design & usage and implement enhancements. Design and implement an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) engine using AWS EMR (Elastic MapReduce) for efficient data processing. Design, review, and implement reporting solutions integrating Tableau with AWS services for seamless data visualization. Design and implement containerized UI applications (frontend & backend) with microservices architecture on Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service). Experience in Infrastructure as Code, scripting (Python/Bash), Helm charts, Docker, and Kubernetes. Experience in reviewing and implementing cloud security best practices. Integrate and optimize supporting AWS services to create a cohesive, performant application ecosystem. Ensure the overall architecture meets performance, scalability, and security requirements. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team throughout the project lifecycle. Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to enhance performance and reduce costs. Automate deployment processes and workflows using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins. Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability. Develop and enforce best practices for security, compliance, and cost management in cloud environments. Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, and practices. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, providing technical support and guidance. Your Profile Essential Skills / Knowledge / Experience: Extensive AWS service knowledge Lambda Avaloq experience ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Integrating Tableau with AWS services Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) Infrastructure as Code, scripting (Python/Bash), Helm charts, Docker, Kubernetes Tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, and practices Desirable Skills / Knowledge / Experience: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills Banking domain experience will be an added advantage AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional Experience with financial reporting systems or similar data-intensive applications Knowledge of Angular and Node.js for frontend and backend development
