This role is to become a self employed foster carer and make a difference to a child or young person. We provide all the training, support, access to therapeutic sessions and one to one social work support. You can receive a foster carer payment of up to £800 for each child or young person, depending on their needs and support. Fostering is treated as self employment and is mainly tax free - as there is an annual allowance for each household of £19,360, plus a weekly tax free amount of up to £485 per week. The process to become a carer takes between 3 to 6 months. You do need a spare room and the time for fostering. Applicants are to be age 21 or above.
