Our client is an established boutique professional services firm headquartered in the UK, with a strong reputation across financial and professional services markets.

Following sustained growth, the business continues to invest in strengthening its internal infrastructure and operational support to enable long-term expansion.

This role represents a key hire within the business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day office operations while also managing core financial processes. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership in a high-performing, entrepreneurial environment. This role would ideally suit an individual who is happy to get involved all aspects of the business, someone who thrives wearing different 'hats' and an individual who loves working in smaller, SME environment, rather than a large corporate.


The Opportunity – Office & Finance Manager


This opportunity is ideal for a highly organised Office Manager with strong financial administration experience who enjoys operating in a dynamic, growing business.

Reporting directly to the company directors, you will play a central role in ensuring the smooth running of the office while supporting the financial operations of the business. The role combines operational coordination, administrative support, and hands-on financial responsibilities.

You will act as a key point of contact across the business, helping maintain efficient internal processes, supporting leadership, and ensuring strong financial and operational processes as the company continues to scale.


Key Responsibilities


Office Operations & Business Support

* Overseeing the day-to-day running of the office and operational processes
* Managing office suppliers, service providers, and vendor relationships
* Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and contractors
* Providing EA support to company directors where required
* Coordinating meetings, travel arrangements, and administrative activities
* Maintaining internal systems, documentation, and operational processes
* Supporting HR administration and compliance-related processes
* Acting as a central point of contact for internal teams and external partners


Financial Administration & Control

* Bookkeeping and day-to-day finance administration
* Managing invoicing and credit control processes
* Supporting cashflow tracking and financial records
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns and maintaining compliance records
* Assisting with payroll processing and Companies House filings
* Supporting preparation of management accounts and weekly P&L balancing
* Liaising with external accountants and tax advisers
* Maintaining financial documentation and reporting accuracy


Reporting & Business Support

* Supporting financial reporting and analysis
* Assisting with budget tracking and forecasting processes
* Maintaining strong financial and operational processes


Skills & Experience

* Experience in an Office Manager, Operations Manager, Finance & Office Manager, or similar hands-on role
* Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
* Practical experience with bookkeeping, invoicing, VAT administration, payroll, or financial record keeping
* Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
* Strong Excel and general reporting skills
* Familiarity with UK VAT processes, payroll administration, and Companies House filings
* Experience liaising with external accountants or professional adviser
* Experience working in a growing SME or professional services environment
* Previous experience supporting senior leadership or directors
