Job Description
We are seeking an Accounts Assistant with payroll and credit control experience to oversee and support our finance team based at our main headquarters in Ossett, West Yorkshire. This role involves overseeing the payroll process for both weekly paid staff and monthly based staff, as well as maintaining the payroll database, ensuring that any changes are accurately recorded and updated in a timely manner. Furthermore, this role will also require the post holder to assist with credit control duties.
Key Responsibilities
* Update and maintain the payroll database – ensuring accuracy for new starters, leavers, and employee changes – Processing of company payrolls (weekly and monthly).
* Process payments to employees, HMRC, and pension providers on time.
* Liaising with staff and management on payroll related queries.
* Calculation of SMP, OMP, SSP and OSP payments.
* Credit Control.
* Check and process purchase invoices.
* Raise and import sales invoices into the accounts software.
* Weekly bank reconciliation and dealing with bank queries.
* Deal with customer and supplier phone calls and respond to any queries.
Skills (Advantageous)
* Experience carrying out payroll.
* Experience with Credit Control.
* Experience working with the Kashflow system. (Desired)
* Academic qualification in finance or working towards.
* Numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
* The ability to work towards and meet deadlines.

* A competitive salary of £30,000 – £33,000 depending on qualifications and experience

Please note that this role will be based fully on site at 40 hours per week between Monday and Friday 08:00am – 17:00pm.
