Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support (Secondary Alternative Provision) – Bexley, London – £95-£120 per day
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We're looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in a vibrant Secondary Alternative Provision, working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity for someone with a calm, compassionate approach and a desire to support young people in overcoming barriers to learning.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs (preferred)
* A resilient, patient, and nurturing personality
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups with their learning and emotional regulation
* Working closely with teachers and support staff to implement personalised strategies
* Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in and out of the classroom
* Helping students to build confidence, self-esteem, and independence
* Assisting with the preparation of learning resources and classroom organisation
* Providing pastoral care and being a trusted, consistent adult for students
