Key Responsibilities
Delivering lessons that last
Using our smart learning tool, Compass, you’ll deliver tailored sessions where you facilitate learning through questioning, scaffolding and stretching.
Building meaningful relationships
With a 16 ratio, you’ll get to know each child and create a safe, inspiring environment where they can take risks and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Driving academic progress
Support members as they work through the national curriculum, entrance exams, and GCSE preparation, celebrating milestones and successes along the way.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Are confident leading sessions with small groups (16), always putting children’s safety and wellbeing first.
* Feel comfortable supporting children aged 4-16 across the national curriculum, including 11+ entrance exams and GCSE content.
* Are committed to building meaningful, long‑term relationships, providing the consistency and stability that helps children thrive.
* Have achieved a grade 5 or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level (or equivalent). Note we accept predicted GCSE grades if you will be receiving your results within the next 3 months.

Location
This is an on‑site role and you will be based at our Chelmsford centre.
Contract
You will be contracted to work at least 6 hours a week over 2 different days. Shift start times are between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm on weekdays.
Pay
* Under 18 – £8.40 per hour.
* 18–20 – £10.90 per hour.
* 21+ – £12.75 per hour.
* Additional 50p per hour for work inside the M25.
Training and inductions are paid. Pay increases annually based on hours tutored.

Proof of eligibility to work in the UK will be required. Unfortunately, we cannot offer sponsorship.
