About the role
St Clare's Catholic School, Burdell is seeking an experienced and dedicated School Officer - Administration to join the team.This role is a term time, permanent position completing 35 hours per week, commencing as soon as practicable.
The role of School Officer – Administration is responsible for providing high level administrative support demonstrating a high level of self-initiative, flexibility, attention to detail, autonomy and dependability.
The School Officer – Administration will be required to liaise with visitors, parents, staff and students to the College. The incumbent will present a professional image and create a welcoming, warm and positive impression. As the initial point of contact for many key stakeholders, the School Officer - Administration will deliver high quality customer service.
Key Accountabilities
The School Officer - Administration will represent the school in a professional, warm, friendly and efficient manner. Duties include:
1. Support the delivery of operational tasks associated with reception and administration including: Provide support to student reception Mail management and distribution Responding to incoming telephone and email enquires Dealing professionally with and directing enquiries of parents, visitors and contractors Data entry to support registers and record management.
2. Provide administration support that meets the day to day requirements of the school including: Co-ordinate dissemination of information to staff and students Production of documents – letters, registers, spreadsheets Assist with financial transactional processes including procurement, accounts payable, accounts receivable. Assist with daily entry of receipting and data entry of cash/EFTPOS receipts, including cash drawer reconciliation in accordance with established routines and procedures Assist in the production of internal and external documents Sort, prepare and file documents as required.
3. Support the delivery of tasks associated with community events and school functions
4. Administer first aid where necessary
5. Monitor inventory for stationery and first aid supplies
6. Assist in student reception, uniform shop and in other administration roles
7. Money handling
Mandatory Criteria
8. Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government
9. Minimum certificate level or higher qualification or equivalent relevant experience
10. Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville
11. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner
12. First Aid certificate or the ability to attain one
Desirable Criteria
13. Recent administration and/or reception experience in a school or other environment.
