Special Educational Needs Practitioner

Yeovil, Somerset

Yeovil College is seeking an enthusiastic SEND Practitioner to provide crucial support to students, both individually and in groups, empowering them to succeed in their educational journey.

As an SEND Practitioner, you will assist and support students with EHCPs or special educational and learning needs, helping them successfully access further education and thrive within mainstream classes and courses. You'll play a key role in their personal and academic development, ensuring they have the guidance and tools to succeed whilst being part of a small and supportive team.


What we're looking for:

* A strong interest in working with young people with additional needs.
* Passionate about facilitating young people to make progress in all four areas in SEND achieve learning goals.
* Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
* A Special Education Needs background and knowledge along with IT and admin skills are key for the role.
* Level 2 English and Maths, or willingness to work towards.
* Level 3 Award for Learning Support Practitioners or willingness to work towards.
* Respectful of learner's personal needs and maintain confidentiality at all times.
