About the Role
As a Team Manager within our Children and Families Service, you will draw upon your experience and expertise to support your team’s ongoing personal and professional development. Through reflective supervision and a collaborative, high-performance culture, you’ll help achieve the best possible outcomes for children, young people, and their families. Leading a dedicated team within Children’s Social Care, you will have oversight of all children and young people supported by your team, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained while championing restorative practice. At its core, this role is about improving outcomes for our most vulnerable young people and families - driving positive change and making a lasting impact in their lives.
Our Children and Families Service offers a highly challenging yet deeply rewarding working environment, where you’ll manage child-in-need and child protection cases, as well as those involving legal proceedings and looked-after children. About You
As a Team Manager, your skills and experience will include:
1. Experience working within social care, including working in a multi-agency environment
2. Strong leadership and management skills; effectively leading teams, with the ability to develop and support individuals, promoting an environment of continuous improvement where everyone can achieve their potential
3. The ability to build effective professional relationships with children, families, and other professionals, leading to successful outcomes for children
4. A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
5. Satisfactory completion of your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
6. A high-level of written and verbal communication skills*
7. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children’s social work
8. Exceptional recording and planning skills
9. Ability to make difficult decisions
10. A valid UK driving licence and access to a car*
