This is an exciting development opportunity for an enthusiastic committed practitioner to join the adult mental health team based at Felindre unit Bronllys hospital. We are seeking to recruit an exceptional individual with excellent communication skills who would wish to develop and consolidate their experiences.
The successful candidate will work as part of a continually developing multi-disciplinary team comprising of nurses, OT's, Psychologists and Medic's.
Powys Teaching Health Board has a well-developed appraisal and supervision structure in place and actively encourages continuing professional development.
We have strong links with local universities and provide practice placements for student nurses.
The applicant should have previous inpatient/community experience and have appropriate demonstrable registration experience, with current or previous managerial responsibilities
Main duties of the job
The post holder is a senior member of the Inpatient Mental Health Team and will be responsible for the care and care coordination for a caseload of service users who are experiencing severe mental health difficulties. The post holder will take responsibility within their caseload for ensuring the assessment of health and social needs, formulation, planning, delivery and evaluation of care, support and treatment by the team, for both individuals and groups of service users including risk assessment and management, CTP, CTP reviews.
The post holder will be responsible for completing CTP assessments for patients who require out of hours assessment. The post holder will need to be competent in completing CTP assessments/risk assessment and formulation and planning outcome of assessment.
They will work collaboratively across wide ranging multi-disciplinary services and agencies to provide effective delivery of health and social care, supporting a programme of recovery and social inclusion within the area.
The post holder will also supervise junior staff who are engaged with service users within their caseload and also complete junior staff appraisals, act as a preceptor and a mentor to newly qualified members of staff and nursing students and will assume line management in the absence of the ward manager.

Qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse Degree level or working towards
* Nurse Prescribing - or willing to complete
* Training in CBT in Psychosis/ DBT training
* ECDL
