Job Summary
The Graduate Assistant (GA) will be responsible for data management of large datasets associated with Auburn University’s outcomes assessment activities, including but not limited to, student learning outcomes, academic affairs and student support services program, and post-graduate outcome data. The GA will be responsible for asking important research questions and implementing the appropriate analysis of the data and reporting results. In addition, the GA may also be responsible for facilitating important conversations with various higher education audiences about using data for continuous improvement. The GA may also be responsible for creating assessment and evaluation resources for faculty and staff including marketing and training materials. The GA must have excellent data management, measurement, and analysis skills. The ideal candidate will also have significant Microsoft Office and/or Adobe Creative Cloud experience. The GA should be good at brief report writing and the visualization of complex datasets. The Office of Academic Insight anticipates there will be opportunities to lead projects, streamline processes, and enhance communication skills in this position.
Essential Functions
* Manage data from various University sources.
* Merge and analyze data to support continuous improvement.
* Report and visualize findings (written, oral visual)
* Create digital and print documents to support the mission of the institution and Office of Academic Insight.
This position will apply functional knowledge, skills, and abilities from the educational program that are related to providing clinical and educational services, developing basic principles of and applications of behavior analysis, and implementing behaviorally based assessments. Minimum Qualifications
* Enrolled Graduate Student
* Working towards graduate degree at AU with coursework in measurement, assessment, statistics and/or analytics,, big data, data visualization, or psychology.
* Prior experience working with large datasets
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
* Excellent planning and time management skills
* Ability to convey complex information in a way that people understand
* Willing to take initiative, support OAI team members, prioritize tasks, and execute assignments promptly. They should also have a positive attitude, good sense of humor, and be excellent representatives of Auburn University.
* Dress appropriately for an office work environment.
