The post holder will perform the role of Offender Manager under the direction of the MOSOVO (management of sexual and violent offenders) Detective Sergeant. They will work directly with registerable sex offenders and other nominals who come under the MAPPA framework conducting regular home visits and compiling official reports including the formulation of risk assessments and risk management plans.

There is a requirement for extensive multi agency working to deliver structured management of offenders in the community.

The role is open to those who have already gained accreditation as a PIP 1 investigator.
.
Current or previous experience as an offender manager and experience of working under the mappa framework is desirable.
.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate high levels of self-motivation, proactivity, partnership working and organisation.
They must be willing to complete training in OSP (OASys Sexual reoffending Predictor), ARMS (Active Risk Management System) the national MOSOVO course and the Visor computer system if they do not already hold these accreditations.
.
It is a national requirement for the post holder to be assessed as being occupationally competent in the workplace and so this will form part of their probationary period in the role.

Please note that this role includes some weekend working through a 3 week shift pattern, working hours 08:00 - 16:00 as shown below:

Week 1 - Monday - Friday
Week 2 - Monday - Sunday
Week 3 - Wednesday - Friday

This shift pattern is subject to change. It should be noted this an operational role which requires a flexible approach to duty times .

The post will be based at Workington Police Station but will require regular travel in a constabulary vehicle to headquarters at Penrith and other stations as well as training outside of Cumbria.
.
A high level of proficiency with electronic devices and systems will be essential in order to effectively carry out this role.
