Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting for an Adults Social Worker to join a busy West Locality Team based in Barnsley.
What will your responsibilities be?
You will take personal responsibility for continuing professional development and maintaining performance levels. You will manage your time effectively and respond flexibly to service needs. You will undertake assessments under the Community Care Act and other legislation, using a self-directed support approach. Managing a caseload as allocated will be part of your role. You will work with individuals to assist them in assessing risk and making decisions related to their ability to function in their community environment. Promoting safeguarding awareness with service users and multi-disciplinary colleagues will be essential. You will keep updated on current safeguarding guidance and practice and be vigilant in all activities. Additionally, you will provide support and cover for the Team Manager and/or Principal Manager. Actively participating in the performance management system, including supervision, PAR, team meetings, and service reviews, will be part of your role. You will follow departmental health and safety procedures and develop skills through work experience in various divisional situations, such as secondments, job rotation, and shadowing. Contributing to information management processes and supporting social work students on placement under the direction of the Principal or Practice Manager, acting as a workplace supervisor or Practice Teacher if appropriately trained, will also be expected. You need to understand and integrate into practice the key policies of the council in relation to social care with adults, especially multi-disciplinary working, integration, and whole family approaches.

Qualifications and Experiences:
To be successful in this role, you must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a full UK driving licence, and have post-qualified experience. A degree level or equivalent qualification in Social Work is also required.
