Bury Grammar School is seeking to appoint an inspiring and well-qualified Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to join our successful and supportive Languages faculty on a 1-year Fixed Term Contract from Easter 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners. We are looking for a passionate linguist committed to maintaining the high academic standards for which Bury Grammar School is renowned, through the delivery of exceptional teaching across a range of languages. The successful candidate will ideally teach French and German at Key Stage 3, and one of French, Spanish or German up to GCSE. There is the option to teach at A Level if desired; however, this is not an essential criterion for this role.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
Ideally teach French and German at Key Stage 3, delivering engaging, well-planned lessons that motivate, challenge and inspire pupils.
Teach one of French, Spanish or German at GCSE level.
Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress, ensuring high standards of learning and achievement.
Contribute to continued curriculum development within the Languages Faculty.
Support pupils' academic progress and personal development.
Play an active role in the wider life of Bury Grammar School, including extracurricular and enrichment opportunities e.g. clubs, trips, exchanges.
There is the opportunity to teach up to A-Level if desired; however, this is not an essential criterion for the vacancy.
