Are you looking to kick start your career as a chef?
Working with food is an art form, and being a chef is one of the most rewarding occupations around. If you have a positive attitude and the desire to start a career in hospitality, we would like to hear from you!
We’re looking for an aspiring Chef Apprentice to join our team at The Locksbrook Inn, Bath - one of the venues that make up St Austell's managed pub estate.
Join us and develop all the tools you will need to begin building an exciting future. With over 170 years of heritage and a thriving pub estate, we can offer unrivalled progression opportunities that could see you working in some of the most iconic locations in the southwest, from Bath to the Scilly Isles!
What does the Chef Apprentice role look like?
Throughout this apprenticeship, you will work with experienced chefs in a fast-paced and fun environment, as part of the Locksbrook's high-energy team. As the course progresses, you will develop your knowledge, skills, and behavior—learning the fundamental principles key to building a successful career as a professional chef.
You’ll practice your new skills while at work, with the full support of the team around you. As you develop, you'll become proficient at working with top-quality fresh local produce, playing a hands-on role in prepping and cooking dishes to the required specifications, while managing high volumes and maintaining consistency. You will learn how to adapt your approach and work flexibly under pressure.
Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll be led by some of the best in our business, gaining firsthand experience of efficient kitchen practices. Your practical lessons, along with experience gained as part of a busy commercial kitchen team, will enable you to earn a nationally recognized qualification, progress, and become an integral member of our extended operations.
What will you get in return?
St Austell takes pride in our apprentices and offers a wealth of enviable benefits:
* Fully funded Level 2 training with a qualification at the end, equivalent to a GCSE in cookery.
* 30% off food and drink in our pubs.
* 50% off overnight stays in our pubs.

* Westfield Rewards, including discounts and rewards from hundreds of leading retailers, restaurants, and destinations.
