Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Health & Safety Construction Manager to join our dynamic team in Stevenage. Fulfilling a critical leadership role within the team you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, technical integrity, compliance, and successful execution of construction projects within the organization. Key Responsibilities: Provide input to the Contracting and Procurement Strategy, ensuring safety requirements are embedded Draft and review contract clauses related to safety, risk management, and emergency response Establish and apply safety-related prequalification criteria for contractors Evaluate contractors’ EHS systems, incident history, and safety performance during selection Participate in bid evaluations and post-project reviews to inform future contract decisions. Collaborate with procurement to structure contracts that incentivize safety milestones Support constructability reviews, facilitating discussions among stakeholders and documenting outcomes Ensure project design aligns with construction methods and safety considerations Identify and address potential construction issues early in the project lifecycle Contribute to the Project Execution Plan, focusing on construction execution strategy Provide input on permitting and regulatory requirements Support development of preconstruction EHS information in coordination with the Client’s Design Coordinator Ensure safety schedules are in place before site work begins Define EHS responsibility boundaries and prequalify contractors and key personnel on behalf of the client Monitor and assure contractor compliance with EHS requirements and performance through regular meetings and audits Implement site-specific safety rules and contractor safety oversight plans
