Trading Manager – Morrisons
Morrisons is the UKs fifth largest supermarket, offering fresh food and groceries to over 11 million customers every week. We source and process most of our fresh food in our own manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the team to the very best standard, ensuring a superior shopping experience for every customer.
* Plan and organise promotions and in-store events.
* Listen to customer feedback and respond appropriately.
* Ensure market-leading availability across the store.
* Collaborate with other managers to foster a supportive, performance-driven department.
* Manage staffing routines, including scheduling, absence, performance and talent conversations.
* Deliver training, equipping the team with the capability and confidence to perform their roles.
* Motivate colleagues across various departments to work confidently.
* Identify and develop talent within the department.
* Build effective relationships with other operating departments.
* Drive outstanding performance against all relevant targets.
* Assume a leadership role within the store.
* Ensure resources are planned thoroughly.
Required Experience and Skills
* Experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills, capable of sharing knowledge, experience and best practices.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across all areas, remaining flexible.
* Adaptability to change and the capacity to challenge effectively.
* Active listening to and responding effectively to customers and colleagues.
Previous experience in the retail industry, hospitality, the service industry or travel & tourism is desirable. A passion for delivering exceptional customer service is essential.
