What we’re looking for Strong academic background (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Maths). Demonstrable interest in public equities and hedge fund investing; understanding of what drives long vs. short returns. Solid foundation in accounting, financial statements, and valuation. Very strong Python coding skills (essential), including: Writing clean, well-structured code; comfort with Git/version control Data analysis with common libraries (e.g., pandas/numpy); comfort with APIs and/or web scraping is a plus Ability to translate an investment question into a robust, testable analysis Strong grasp of AI tools and workflows (essential), including: Knowing how to use LLMs and related tooling productively (prompting, evaluation, iteration) Ability to sanity-check outputs, manage hallucination risk, and clearly separate “facts” from “model-generated” suggestions Good judgement around confidentiality, data security, and use of approved tools/data sources Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail. Clear, concise communication (written and verbal); able to present a view and defend it with evidence. High work ethic, curiosity, and maturity; comfortable in a fast-paced environment. What you’ll gain Hands-on exposure to a fundamental Long/Short Equity investment process. The chance to apply Python and AI to real research problems and materially improve workflow.
