Maxwell Consultancy are working with a tier 1 aerospace supplier in their search for a CNC Turner. This is a permanent, full-time role working in their state of the art workshop in Basildon.
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced CNC Operator to join our precision engineering team. You’ll be responsible for producing high‑accuracy components on multi axis lathes, ensuring every part meets strict quality and customer requirements. This is a hands‑on role where your skill, attention to detail, and commitment to quality will directly support our production performance.
What You’ll Do
*
Set and operate a range of multi‑axis CNC machines to manufacture high‑precision components.
*
Working on Doosan, Okuma and Mazak lathes
*
FANUC or Mazatrol control panel experience beneficial
*
Carry out in‑process inspection using CMMs and other measurement tools to verify compliance with technical drawings.
*
Follow all procedures, safety standards, and production methods to ensure consistent, high‑quality output.
*
Maintain accurate logs of production issues, adjustments, and equipment maintenance.
*
Maximise machine uptime through preventative maintenance and good operational practice.
*
Work safely around machinery and promote safe working behaviours within the team.
*
Support wider production needs with flexibility and a positive, team‑focused approach.
*
Collaborate effectively with colleagues across machining, inspection, and engineering.
What You’ll Bring
*
Strong ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
*
Experience producing tight‑tolerance components to high quality standards.
*
Understanding of manufacturing safety regulations and best practices.
*
Time‑served apprenticeship or demonstrable equivalent experience in CNC machining.
*
High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering work to aerospace/defence‑level specifications.
*
Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
