This role is designed for a professional who thrives in high-performance environments and is capable of balancing individual contribution with team mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
* Transaction Execution: Execute corporate development initiatives across funding, strategy, and transactions, including the preparation of high-quality investor and board materials.
* Financial Excellence: Build robust, defensible financial models across projects and products while enhancing modelling efficiency and automation.
* Strategic Growth: Lead M&A and selective inorganic analysis, including valuation, diligence, and clear recommendation synthesis.
* Relationship Management: Support funder relationships, track inbound interest, and partner with external advisers such as banks and legal counsel.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with technical and commercial stakeholders to maintain a deep understanding of project pipelines and the carbon capture ecosystem.
* Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship across team outputs while maintaining a strong individual contribution.
The Ideal Profile
Success in this role requires a combination of technical rigour and strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will possess:
* Professional Experience: A background in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or transactional FP&A.
* Sector Exposure: Direct experience in energy transition, industrials, or infrastructure is preferred.
* Technical Skills: Advanced financial modelling skills (scenario and sensitivity analysis) and a strong grasp of project economics and cost curves.
* Communication: The ability to distil complex analysis into actionable, executive-level insights.
* Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Engineering. An MBA, CFA, or CPA qualification is strongly preferred.
