The CYP Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team is one of three dedicated services formed from the 2014 service transformation model, featuring dedicated and local services within the directorate. We are an expanding, highly specialist team, combining expertise in CYP neurological disorders with specialist mental health assessment skills.
This is a band 8a full-time post suitable for an experienced Clinical Psychologist with an interest in neurodevelopmental disorders. The successful post holder will contribute to completing assessments for ASD and ADHD within the CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team. You will join a multidisciplinary team comprising psychologists, psychiatrists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and nurses, working alongside assistant psychologists. The service is expected to continue expanding to meet demand. The post-holder will receive clinical supervision from an experienced clinical psychologist in neurodevelopmental disorders and group supervision from the team. There is also an opportunity to be funded for ADOS-2 training.

Clinical Responsibilities
1. Provide specialist assessments of young children and their parents/carers, integrating complex data from various sources in line with CYP IAPT methodology.
2. Formulate plans and recommendations for evidence-based interventions to improve parent/child relationships.
3. Evaluate treatment options considering theoretical and therapeutic models, and complex developmental factors.
4. Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients.
5. Provide specialist mental health advice and consultation to other professionals.
6. Use evidence-based tools to ensure holistic, coordinated services.
7. Undertake risk assessments and manage risks for young children and their families.
8. Communicate assessment and treatment plans sensitively and effectively.
9. Monitor progress and evaluate interventions according to standards.
10. Maintain accurate healthcare records per Trust policies.
11. Demonstrate high-level communication skills, both written and verbal.
