Role Summary
The Operations Manager will have overall responsibility for the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of our clients business, with a primary focus on warehouse management, order fulfilment accuracy, purchasing, and process improvement. The role will ensure that all operational activities are aligned with company objectives, meet agreed performance targets, and support business growth.
Key Objectives
* Lead and manage the warehouse team to achieve agreed operational KPIs.
* Support the Operations Director in ensuring our clients compliance with all accreditations, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Cyber Essentials.
* Provide systems and processes training for the wider team.
* Provide systems and process-oriented feedback on business efficiency projects.
* Manage site health and safety, including taking on responsibilities as a First Aider and a Fire Warden.
* Undertake key finance tasks on Thursdays and Fridays when our clients Accounts team are not in the building, including invoice uploads and releasing payments.
* Maintain error rates below 2% from order receipt to shipment.
* Ensure optimal stock levels for both resale products and business consumables.
* Act as the primary liaison between the sales department and warehouse operations to ensure smooth order processing and communication.
* Drive process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
* Oversee all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
* Ensure orders are processed accurately and within agreed lead times.
* Maintain compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and legal obligations.
* Analyse workflow and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational errors.
People Management
* Lead, motivate, and develop the warehouse team, ensuring performance reviews and training needs are addressed.
* Maintain a positive and productive working environment.
Purchasing
* Manage purchasing activities for resale stock and company consumables.
* Negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and favourable terms.
* Maintain supplier relationships and evaluate performance.
Systems & Reporting
* Utilise Microsoft Business Central and HubSpot CRM for operational tracking and reporting.
* Monitor KPIs and prepare regular operational performance reports for senior management.
Essential

* Proven experience as an operations Manager or similar role within a distribution, logistics, or warehouse environment.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
* Competence in operational planning and KPI management.
Desirable
* Experience with Microsoft Business Central and/or HubSpot CRM.
* Understanding of warehouse management best practices.
* Experience in procurement and supplier management.
