We are seeking to appoint a proactive, enthusiastic and committed Librarian to join our successful secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who understands the transformative power of literacy and is dedicated to supporting students' learning, personal development and aspirations beyond the classroom.

The school library sits at the heart of our teaching and learning culture, providing a welcoming and engaging environment that promotes a lifelong love of reading. We are looking for a candidate who can build on our strong literacy provision and continue to develop an innovative and dynamic library service that supports the academic and personal growth of all students.

The successful candidate will:

* Manage and develop the school library as a vibrant learning hub.

* Promote reading for pleasure and support whole-school literacy initiatives.

* Inspire students to engage with reading and independent study.

* Support groups and individual students within the library environment.

* Organise literacy-focused events, activities and enrichment opportunities.

* Contribute to extracurricular provision that promotes literacy, study skills and student achievement.

* Work collaboratively with staff to support teaching and learning across the curriculum.

We are looking for someone who:

* Has a genuine passion for reading and literacy.

* Can inspire young people to develop a love of books and learning.

* Has excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills.

* Demonstrates initiative, creativity and a commitment to continuous improvement.

* Has a flexible, positive and proactive approach to their work.

* Is committed to supporting the achievement and wellbeing of all students.

In return, we offer:

* A supportive and collaborative working environment.

* A strong commitment to staff wellbeing.

* Access to an employee healthcare scheme.

* The opportunity to play a key role in shaping the literacy journey of our students.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to make a significant contribution to a school that places literacy, reading and student success at the centre of its vision.

The successful applicant will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. An enhanced DBS check, including barred list checks, will be required for the successful candidate.
