Lead Electrical Design Engineer - Southampton / Hybrid
We are seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join our busy design studio at our Southampton Head Office. This role reports to the Electrical Design Manager and involves managing all aspects of electrical design for various projects.
Responsibilities include:
1. Managing project-specific design deliverables
2. Carrying out design in accordance with M&E Design QA Procedures
3. Producing detailed designs following Trant Procedures
4. Interpreting client requirements from documents
5. Communicating with clients, external resources, and subcontractors
6. Conducting site surveys and feasibility studies
7. Assisting with tender pricing
8. Producing procurement specifications and detailed drawings
9. Managing third-party designs and supporting installation teams
10. Reviewing vendor data and control system specifications
11. Managing project design costs
12. Performing design calculations and modeling power systems
13. Preparing CAD drawings
14. Developing process control philosophies
15. Producing electrical scope and enquiry documents
16. Estimating costs
17. Conducting risk assessments
18. Preparing electrical specifications and schedules
19. Documenting design changes and producing 'As Built' documents
20. Liaising with clients and subcontractors
Qualifications:
* Electrical qualification or equivalent experience
* Chartered Engineer status is advantageous but not essential
