Classroom Teaching Assistant
Location: Easingwold, North Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £85 - £110 per day
GSL Education are seeking a Classroom Teaching Assistant to work at a Client Secondary School in Easingwold, North Yorkshire starting as soon as possible.
Classroom Teaching Assistant requirements:
* Previous experience supporting children or young people, ideally within a SEN environment.
* Understanding of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and a variety of learning difficulties.
* A relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning is desirable.
* Be able to engage with young people and build effective relationships.
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to develop supportive connections with students, staff, and parents.
* Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
* Work alongside the class teacher to deliver lessons tailored to individual student needs.
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support, helping learners overcome challenges to their progress.
* Support students with a range of special educational needs.
* Implement strategies, in collaboration with staff, to help pupils reach their learning objectives.
* Support the consistent and positive management of behaviour, including the use of de-escalation techniques when necessary.
* Contribute to the preparation and organisation of teaching resources and classroom materials.
* Promote independence and confidence in students.
