Engineering Techncian
About the Role
The Henley College is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Engineering Technician to join our Engineering department.
As an Engineering Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of our manufacturing workshop and electronics labs. You’ll work directly with staff and students, supporting practical sessions, maintaining machinery, and helping to provide a high-quality learning environment for our learners.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified engineer looking to work in a supportive educational setting, or someone from industry seeking to pass on their knowledge and play a key role in student success.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with a practical engineering background, a strong attention to detail, and a proactive, team-focused approach. The ideal candidate will have:
1. A Level 2 qualification or above in Engineering
2. Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics
3. Knowledge of maintaining and operating mechanical and electronic workshop equipment
4. Familiarity with health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and COSHH
5. Excellent organisational and communication skills
6. The ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Industry experience (minimum 2 years)
8. Previous experience working in an educational environment

Location: Henley on Thames
Salary: £24,136.00 pro rated to £20,316.00 - Appointment at a higher point may be made for candidates who demonstrate exceptional skills and experience relevant to the role.
Contract Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, 38 weeks a year
