What you will do
Provide day-to-day operational oversight of the Duty Hub, ensuring efficient screening of contacts and referrals while maintaining robust, consistent, and defensible threshold decisions.
Lead on complex safeguarding decision-making processes, including Section 47 enquiries and strategy discussions, taking immediate risk management actions where necessary.
Offer practice guidance and consultation to Social Workers and partner agencies, ensuring high standards of assessment and analysis are upheld.
Coordinate multi‑agency information sharing within a MASH environment, collaborating closely with Police, Health, Education, and other statutory partners.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent)
* Significant post‑qualifying experience in statutory children’s social care
* Practice Educator or leadership training (desirable)
Registration & Compliance
* Registered with Social Work England
* Strong working knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and statutory guidance for assessment and intervention
* Understanding of MASH processes, information sharing protocols, and safeguarding governance frameworks
