Handle are delighted to be working with an established live music company in their search for a Financial Controller. This is a unique and rare opportunity to work for an ever-expanding company within the industry looking after music promotions, venues, and artist touring.
This brand new Financial Control position will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and the ability to work collaboratively with the different departments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company.
* Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
* Prepare monthly and quarterly budgets and forecasts.
* Generate custom financial reports for management to support decision-making processes.
* Track budget variances, investigate discrepancies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
* Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements for clients
* Oversee quarterly MCPS reporting and half yearly royalty accounting for labels.
* Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations.
* Prepare year-end accounts to final draft (excluding tax calculations and companies house submissions)
* Liaise with external accountant to finalise end of year accounts.
* Manage cash flow.
* Supervise and mentor the accounts team.
* Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
Qualifications:
* Accounting qualification ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualification is essential
* Rounded knowledge and experience with Sage accountancy software.
* A minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Financial Controller in the music industry.
* Royalties experience
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent IT skills including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Music experience is desirable but if not, media/entertainment industry experience is essential. You will have a passion for all things music and be a regular gig and festival goer!
