The Team
The Chief Technology Organisation (CTO) within Global Technology designs, builds, and manages critical systems and platforms across the enterprise, lines of business and regions. This includes end-to-end technology infrastructure solutions across hosting, application services, network, data platforms, and end-user computing services.
Programme Overview
The Summer Intern programme offers a broad, exciting experience. During the internship, you will learn from technology specialists and participate in real-time delivery of technology solutions.
Training and Development
Your training and development are our top priority, with extensive formal training at the start, plus on-the-job support, educational events, and mentorship throughout the programme.
Responsibilities
* Deploying and supporting core infrastructure that underpins the daily operations of the entire bank, from worldwide networks to modern workstation platforms
* Design on-premise and cloud solutions used by multiple lines of business, handling billions of dollars of transactions per day
* Collaborate with platform teams and Business Technology Groups to build automated processes
* Participate in global incident, change, and event management processes
* Design and develop cutting-edge solutions to drive operational excellence
* Liaise with business management functions
* Learn and develop skills across a broad range of technologies, platforms and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes
* Translate business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks for deployment in compliance with architecture standards and policies
Eligibility
* Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with completion between September 2026 and July 2027. Evidence of completion may be requested before extending an offer.
* Minimum 112 UCAS points (or equivalent) and on track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent)
* Must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available
* Must be available to join the programme from June 2026 to August 2026
Candidates who perform well during the internship may be offered full-time employment to commence in July 2027. Some lines of business may offer January or April start dates; deferrals are not available.
