Hays are delighted to be working with a well-established business in Huddersfield that's looking to add an experienced Accounts Assistant to their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid grounding in transactional finance who's looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
* Processing purchase and sales invoices
* Bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance
* Assisting with month-end reporting and journals
* Managing supplier payments and resolving queries
* Supporting credit control and aged debt reporting
* Assisting with VAT returns and other HMRC submissions
* Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience in a similar finance role
* Strong understanding of transactional finance processes
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
* A proactive and collaborative approach to work
* AAT qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential
